In the winter of 2016 the City of Jerseyville Passed a Resolution officially allowing the formation of the Jerseyville Economic Development Council.

At that time, it was a small group of 5 members of the community. William Russell – President, William H. Strang – Secretary, Jeff Soer – Treasurer, Alan Karcher – Director, and James M. Hoefert – Director came together to form an organization to assist and enhance the economic opportunities that were presented to our community.

Later two additional members were added to the council, Sandy Hefner – Director and Toni Heitzig – Director which brought the council to 7 members. These 7 members see the importance and the benefit of Economic Development and how it can enhance a region.

This council allows all aspects of business development, recruitment and enhancement to aid Jerseyville and the surrounding areas to be a national participant in our economy.
